Our mission is to provide outreach by promoting educational enrichment, one-on-one mentoring and service initiatives that will cultivate the next generation of responsible leaders.
Our candidates are individuals who want to overcome their past and focus forward by conquering challenging circumstances.
A lack of education, job skills training, low self-esteem, or any combination of these obstacles may inhibit their progress. We offer direction, mentorship, and accountability to help them accomplish their dreams of earning a degree, becoming more marketable and developing leadership skills.
Empowerment sessions are designed to provide knowledge, skills, resources, and services directed toward goal building. They include, but are not limited to the following:
- Budgeting - Health and Wellness
- Parenting Skills - First-Time Homebuyers
- Financial Literacy - Career Strategies
-Time Management - Tuition Assistance
- Credit Management - Career/Education Strategies
We are always looking for people that have the passion to help others and enjoy doing so. We count on community volunteers for the success of our programs, and we hope to raise awareness so that we can encourage community partners to join in and promote our mission to help others to find their way.
Consider becoming a Back at 1 mentor and assisting others as they navigate through a transitional and sometimes overwhelming period in their life. If mentoring doesn’t appeal to you, many other opportunities are available where volunteers can share their time, caring, and expertise in support of our organization’s goals and objectives.
